The CVYP is a Duke of Edinburgh certified centre and have been running this international award for several years to a variety of young people including those with disabilities and additional needs. Throughout you’ll find yourself helping people or the community, getting fitter, developing skills, going on an expedition and taking part in a residential activity (Gold only).
But here’s the best bit – you get to choose what you do!
DofE is Available to those aged 14 to 25 you can access the three levels at different ages-
Bronze- Aged 14+
Silver- Aged 15+
Gold- Aged 16+
Split into four sections, you can enter the programme at three levels, Bronze, Silver or Gold and take part in a plethora of activities and design your own unique Duke of Edinburgh experience. Each level requires a different level of commitment as our young people work to meet the requirements for each section at the various levels. The four sections include:
Service- To individuals and the community
Physical- To encourage participation and improvement of physical fitness/activity
Skill- To encourage the discovery and development of practical and social skills and personal interests
Expeditions- To encourage adventure and discovery by preparing and carrying out an adventure as part of a team
At Gold Level our young people also have to take part in a residential. The time scales for each section will also increase.
For young people aged 14 to 25 D of E is a fun, exciting and unforgettable experience which is recognised internationally.
