Expeditions

At CVYP we are a Licensed Organisation for the Duke of Edinburgh Award. CVYP has extensive experience running Expeditions for over 15 years with many successful participants completing their award including Bronze, Silver and Gold. 

The Expeditions operate in various areas of Northumberland including The National Park and Northumberland Coastline, and in the Lake District and Scotland. 

Chirdon Head Expedition Centre (CHEC) is are very own DofE Expedition approved centre set in the heart of Kielder forest, this is where we run the majority of our training and expeditions from. Able to camp on the grounds with a wide range of walking routes, exploring the forest and all it has to offer. 

For Higher level e.g Gold we also have a number of tried and tested routes available to use in the Lake District and Scotland with a number of wild camps and mountain peaks to explore.   

Most of our expeditions are walking but we have delivered special requested expeditions including cycling and canoeing. 

CVYP have experienced DofE leaders, Mountain leader, Mountain bike Leader, Trail Cycle Leader and DofE Expedition Assessor of 20 years.
